Symptoms of Forehead Acne:
Pores on the forehead constantly get affected and blocked as a result of pollutants, such as dust, etc. This happens because the forehead is perpetually more exposed compared to the rest of the face. Whiteheads and blackheads develop on the forehead because atmospheric exposure blocks the pores. Over time, the forehead starts to develop acne due to the constant presence of blackheads and whiteheads. One of the forms of acne which frequently occurs is red spots. At a later stage, these red spots form cysts which contain fluid. This fluid is made up of extra fatty acids secreted by the body. Cystic acne is a more serious and complex stage of acne. Cystic acne develops when the red spots on the forehead have not been treated in time. It does not get cured immediately and often leaves behind acne scars on the forehead.
Causes Leading to Forehead Acne:
Oily hair or/and dandruff are a primary cause that eventually leads to the development of forehead acne. Hormonal changes that take place within the body can sometimes also be a cause for forehead acne to occur. The main phases in life during which hormonal changes occur are during the youth stage and even the adolescent stage. It is these hormonal changes that give rise to acne, particularly forehead acne. During the youth stage in life, acne becomes much more prominent. However, experts have stated that by the time an individual reaches their mid 20s, this type of acne formed during youth stages almost disappears. During a woman’s menstrual cycle or even while she is carrying, forehead acne tends to become more prominent due to hormonal changes that occur within the body.
Using extra oily cosmetics, or developing skin infections, are also causes that lead to forehead acne. Forehead acne also develops as a result of excessive amounts of oil and even certain harmful chemicals which are present in a few skin care products. Forehead acne develops when excessive oil is secreted from the pores on the forehead. It is universally known that taking birth control pills also leads to the onset of forehead acne.
Consumption of an unhealthy diet which includes high amounts of fatty foods could also lead to forehead acne, since it blocks skin pores. Forehead acne can also be caused due to genetic factors. Individuals with heredity acne are even more prone to get acne on their foreheads. A high level of stress also contributes to the development of forehead acne.
