Aripiprazole (Abilify) is an antipsychotic.
Abilify (aripiprazole) may be described as a clear, colorless to light-yellow oral solution and may be purchased in regular tablet form, oral disintegrating tablet form, an oral solution form and as a solution for intramuscular injections as well.

Inability to control muscle movements in the face/hands/arms/legs
Loss of balance/difficulty walking
Restlessness/need to keep moving
Difficulty swallowing
Difficulty sleeping
Nausea/vomiting
Changes in vision
Muscles/joint pain
Fainting spells
Weight gain
Constipation
Drowsiness
Confusion
Weakness
Headache
Dizziness
Seizures

Sometimes, Abilify (aripiprazole) may also cause severe rashes, strokes, psychosis, Neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS) and very high fever.

Furthermore, Abilify (aripiprazole) may also cause rigid muscles, sweating, body tremors, Jaundice, hives, palpitations and high blood pressure.

Lastly, Abilify (aripiprazole) may also cause Tardive Dyskinesia (TD), a severe itching sensation, Hyperglycemia, Orthostatic hypotension, fainting spells and excessive sweating.

Other than the above mentioned, Abilify (aripiprazole) may also cause fatigue, drooling, changes in the amounts of urine passed, a mild stomach upset, troubled breathing and Anaphylaxis.

Inform your doctor if you are allergic to the formulation of this medication or any other medication in any other form.

Sometimes, Abilify (aripiprazole) interacts with various other medications, such as, Sibutramine, Bromocriptine, Prazosin, Diltiazem, Hydrochlorothiazide, Bupropion, Isoniazid (INH), Thioridazine and Amitriptyline.

Furthermore, Abilify (aripiprazole) interacts with various other medications, such as, Diphenhydramine, Alprazolam, Codeine, Diazepam, Chlorpromazine, Zolpidem, Risperidone and Trazodone.

In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

Inform your doctor if you have or have ever had :

Frequently drink alcohol/alcohol containing beverages
History of brain tumor/head injury
Difficulty swallowing
Previous heart attack
Parkinson`s disease
Low blood pressure
Irregular heartbeat
Heart disease
Dementia
Seizures
Diabetes

Do not double doses to make up for a missed dose. Consult your health care professional about your missed dose.

Aripriprazole helps in controlling schizophrenia. It is not a cure.
Abilify (aripiprazole) may also be used to help treat patients suffering certain complicated and intense mood swings, such as, Bipolar disorder.

Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.

Store at room temperature between 15-25 degrees C (59-77 degrees F) away from heat and moisture.

Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures.

If you conceive whilst on a course with this medication inform your doctor immediately.

If you need to undergo any kind of surgery, inform your doctor you are taking this medicine.

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning to conceive.

Avoid alcohol and alcohol containing items.

Consult your health care professional about having grapefruit whilst on a course with this medicine, in any form.

It is very important for the patient to know that before consuming Abilify (aripiprazole) they must inform their health care professional if they have ever had a history of or are currently suffering from cerebrovascular diseases, strokes, kidney diseases or severe dehydration.

Furthermore, it is very important for the patient to know that before consuming Abilify (aripiprazole) they must inform their health care professional if they have ever had a history of or are currently suffering from obesity, liver diseases, Phenylketonuria (PKU) or breast cancer.

Lastly, it is still unknown as to whether Abilify (aripiprazole) passes into breast milk or otherwise
