Actinic Keratosis:Aldara (Imiquimod) Cream is a skin – use only (topical) prescription medicine used on the face and scalp of adult patients with normal immune systems to treat certain types of Actinic Keratosis (a condition caused by too much sun exposure).
Superficial Basal Cell Carcinoma:Aldara (Imiquimod) Cream is used when surgical methods of removing the carcinoma are less appropriate. Aldara (Imiquimod) Cream is a skin – use only (topical) prescription medicine used to treat adult patients with normal immune systems with Superficial Basal Cell Carcinomas (a minor form of skin cancer).
External Genital and Perianal Warts:Aldara (Imiquimod) Cream is a skin – use only (topical) prescription medicine used to treat Condyloma (External Genital and Perianal Warts) in patients twelve years and older. Aldara (Imiquimod) is not a cure for Genital Warts, it is treatment.

Depending on the skin condition being treated, your health care professional will recommend the dosage and application times, please use exactly as directed. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after application.

Patients using Aldara (Imiquimod) Cream must avoid exposure to sunlight (including sunlamps) due to heightened sunburn susceptibility.
Patients using Aldara (Imiquimod) Cream should be warned to use protective clothing.
The effect of Aldara (Imiquimod) Cream on the transmission of External Genital Warts is unknown. Sometimes new External Genital Warts may develop with the use of Aldara (Imiquimod) Cream.
The use of Aldara (Imiquimod) Cream may weaken condoms and diaphragms.
Inform your doctor if you are allergic to imiquimod or any other medication in any other form. Also inform your doctor if you are taking any other medication in any other form whilst taking this medicine.
Inform your healthc are professional if you are breast feeding or pregnant and if you have recently had any surgery or any other skin treatment.
The use of Aldara (Imiquimod) Cream must be avoided in cases of skin weeping
The use of Aldara (Imiquimod) Cream must be avoided in cases of erosion
Aldara (Imiquimod) Cream can exacerbate inflammatory conditions of the skin
The use of Aldara (Imiquimod) Cream must be avoided in cases of malaise
The use of Aldara (Imiquimod) Cream must be avoided in cases of fever
The use of Aldara (Imiquimod) Cream must be avoided in cases of nausea
The use of Aldara (Imiquimod) Cream must be avoided in cases of myalgia
The use of Aldara (Imiquimod) Cream must be avoided in cases of rigors

Avoid sexual contact, skin to skin contact while medication is on the treatment area.

Exposure and Aldara: Patients with sunburn must not use Aldara (Imiquimod) Cream until healed.
Patients who may have considerable sun exposure, e.g., due to their occupation must not use Aldara (Imiquimod) Cream
Patients with inherent sensitivity to sunlight must not use Aldara (Imiquimod) Cream
Patients prone to the enhancement of ultraviolet carcinogenicity must not use Aldara (Imiquimod) Cream and must minimize or avoid exposure to natural or artificial sunlight
