 |  | Amoxil - Uses
Amoxicillin is used to treat various different types of bacterial infections such as tonsillitis, pneumonia, ear infections, bronchitis, UTIs, gonorrhea, & skin infections. |
 |  | How to Use Amoxil
Amoxicillin may be taken with or without food. You must be sure to take this medication at regular intervals, so as to be able to maintain an ideal amount of medication in the blood stream, high enough to treat that particular infection.
Normally, there should be a minimum of a six to eight hour gap between one dose and the next, or you must take Amoxicillin as suggested by your health care professional.

 |  | Amoxil - Side Effects
While on an ongoing course of Amoxicillin, if you notice any of the symptoms listed below, or any other symptoms which may seem severe or persistent, you must contact your health care professional.
Sometimes, Amoxicillin may cause one to experience mild abdominal cramps, hives, low fever, a sore throat and mild headaches.
Furthermore, Amoxicillin may also cause one to experience blistering or peeling of the skin, insomnia, nausea, anemia and a loss of appetite. |
 |  | Amoxil - Interactions
If you are on an ongoing course of Amoxicillin; before you commence taking any new medication (either prescription or OTC), you must first consult your health care professional or pharmacist.
Furthermore, you must be sure to inform your health care professional if you are allergic to Amoxicillin or any other medication in any other form. Your health care professional must also be informed if you are taking any other medication in any other form whilst on an ongoing course of this medication.
Sometimes, Amoxicillin interacts with various medications, such as Methotrexate, Allopurinol, Probenecid, Cephalosporins, Bactrim and Azithromycin.
Furthermore, Amoxicillin interacts with various medications, such as Troleandomycin, Erythromycin, Telithromycin, Demeclocycline, Minocycline and Tetracycline. |
 |  | Amoxil - Overdose
In case of an overdose of Amoxicillin, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911. |
 |  | Amoxil - Notes
You must be sure to keep all appointments with your health care professional and the laboratory. Your health care professional will order certain laboratory and/or medical tests to be performed to check your response to Amoxicillin, monitor your progress and check for side effects.
Do not let anyone else take your medication, and ask your health care professional or pharmacist any questions you have about refilling your prescription. |

It is important that you do not take a double dose of Amoxicillin to make up for a missed one, unless you have consulted your health care professional. |

If you take appropriate doses of Amoxicillin and Clarithromycin, which have been prescribed by your health care professional, the combination of these two medications is used to help treat stomach ulcers caused by Helicobacter Pylori infections. Furthermore, Amoxicillin may also used in tandem with Lansoprazole, a stomach acid reducer. |

You must be sure to store Amoxicillin at room temperature (between fifty – nine to eighty – six degrees F or fifteen to thirty degrees C) and away from excess heat and moisture. |
 |  | Amoxil - Precautions
It is important for the patient to know that before consuming Amoxicillin, they must inform their health care professional if they have ever had a history of, or are currently suffering from, asthma, liver, stomach, kidney or intestinal diseases, blood clotting disorders, Mononucleosis, diarrhea or Phenylketonuria (PKU).
Furthermore, it is also important for the patient to inform their health care professional if they are diabetic, since this medication may cause tests taken to check sugar levels to show incorrect readings.
Lastly, this medication reduces the effect of birth control pills hence, if you conceive whilst on a course of Amoxicillin, inform your health care professional. You must also be sure to inform your health care professional if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning to conceive. Amoxicillin passes into breast milk and is harmful to a nursing baby. |
