Avelox (Moxifloxacin) may also be described as a slightly yellow crystalline substance, which is used for intravenous administration.
Furthermore, Avelox (Moxifloxacin) has also been proven effective in the treatment of skin infections. This medication rapidly travels to the site of infection and provides fast clinical recovery. Avelox (Moxifloxacin) has also been proven effective in the treatment of intra – abdominal infections caused by certain types of bacteria.

Avelox (Moxifloxacin) is available in tablet form, which must be taken by mouth and usually once a day, with or without food. While on an ongoing course of Avelox (Moxifloxacin) if you notice any of the symptoms listed below, or any other symptoms which may seem severe or persistent, you must contact your health care professional.
Sometimes, Avelox (Moxifloxacin) may cause the patient to experience rashes, nausea, body tremors, headaches, palpitations, Myalgia, vision complications, specks of blood excreted while passing urine, insomnia, a tingling sensation in hands or feet, restlessness and anxiety.
Furthermore, Avelox (Moxifloxacin) may cause the patient to experience disorientation, diarrhea, abdominal pain, dizziness, asthenia (weakness), dyspepsia (a feeling of abdominal fullness), a dry mouth, oral Moniliasis (a yeast infection of the mouth and throat caused by the fungus Monilia), and constipation.
Lastly, Avelox (Moxifloxacin) may cause the patient to experience pruritus (an itching sensation), mild Vaginitis (inflammation of the vagina), anemia, swelling or tearing of a tendon, aphasia, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), tongue discoloration, hepatitis (inflammation of the liver), vomiting and peeling of the skin. |

If you are on an ongoing course of Avelox (Moxifloxacin) before you commence taking any new medication (either prescription or OTC), you must first consult your health care professional or pharmacist.
Furthermore, you must be sure to inform your health care professional if you are allergic to Avelox (Moxifloxacin) or any other medication in any other form. Your health care professional must also be informed if you are taking any other medication in any other form, including nutritional supplements or herbal products whilst on an ongoing course of this medication.
Sometimes, Avelox (Moxifloxacin) interacts with various medications, such as Iron, Magnesium, Manganese or Zinc containing multivitamins and salts,
medications used to treat depression, irregular heart rhythm and diabetes. This medication interacts with Diuretics, Antacids, NSAIDs, Ferrous Sulfate preparations, various other antibiotics and retinoid products.
Furthermore, Avelox (Moxifloxacin) interacts with various medications, such as Magnesium Salicylate, Doxercalciferol, Clarithromycin, Levomethadyl, Erythromycin, Dolasetron, Cyclosporine, Ziprasidone, Terfenadine, Droperidol, Pentamidine, Manganese, Astemizole, Cyclobenzaprine, Troleandomycin and Arsenic trioxide.
Lastly, Avelox (Moxifloxacin) interacts with various medications, such as Didanosine, Sevelamer, Sucralfate, Quinapril, Cisapride, Probucol, Bepridil, Disopyramide, Flecainide, Ibutilide, Dofetilide, Quinidine, Procainamide, Sotalol, Amoxapine, Probucol and Warfarin. |
 |  | Avelox -- Overdose
In case of an overdose of Avelox (Moxifloxacin), call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911. |
 |  | Avelox -- Notes
Your health care professional will order certain laboratory and/or medical tests to be performed to check your response to Avelox (Moxifloxacin), monitor your progress and check for side effects. You must be sure to keep all appointments with your health care professional and the laboratory. It is important that you do not take a double dose of Avelox (Moxifloxacin) to make up for a missed one, unless you have consulted your health care professional. |

Avelox (Moxifloxacin) may also be used to help in the treatment of respiratory infections, as a secondary agent for the treatment of Tuberculosis (TB), conjunctival infections caused by susceptible bacteria and to prevent infections, such as Lasik post eye surgeries.

Store Avelox (Moxifloxacin) in the container it came in, keep the lid tightly closed and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature (between 59 – 86 degrees F or 15 – 30 degrees C) and away from excess heat and moisture.

It is important for the patient to know that before consuming Avelox (Moxifloxacin), they must inform their health care professional, if they have ever had a history of or are currently suffering from colitis, severe Cerebral Arteriosclerosis, heart complications, tendon or joint pain, bradycardia, diabetes or epilepsy.
Furthermore, it is important for the patient to know that before consuming Avelox (Moxifloxacin), they must inform their health care professional, if they have ever had a history of or are currently suffering from liver complications, stroke(s), Myasthenia Gravis, Peripheral neuropathy (changes in the nervous system), Congenital prolongation, various other stomach disorders or chronic conditions.
Lastly, the patient must avoid taking Avelox (Moxifloxacin) if the amount of potassium in their blood is low or if they are on an oral steroid medication. The patient must be sure to wear protective clothing and must avoid taking this medication if they are exposed to the sunlight for long intervals of time or are expected to take care of numerous outdoor activities. |
