Depakote Description

This is an Anti Convulsant Medication.

This medication may cause serious/life threatening damage to the liver/pancreas, especially in children who are less than 2 years old or patients already suffering from mental retardation, patients already taking more than one medication for seizure disorders, inherited diseases that prevent changing of food to energy in the body. This medication can cause birth defects, if you are pregnant, trying to conceive or breast feeding inform your doctor. If you conceive whilst on a course with this medication inform your doctor immediately. If you experience Nausea, Stomach Pain, Appetite Loss, Vomiting, contact your doctor immediately.


	How To Use Depakote Swallow tablet whole with a glass of water. This medication may be taken with or without food.


	Depakote Side Effects If you notice any of the symptoms listed below or any other symptoms which seem severe/persistent contact your doctor immediately. Fever Hair Loss Depression Memory Loss Swollen Glands Suicidal Thoughts Co-ordination Loss Unusual Bruising or Bleeding Blisters/Rash/Itching/Hives Tiny purplish spots on the skin Breathing Difficulty/Swallowing


	Depakote Interaction Inform your doctor if you are allergic to the formulation of this medication or any other medication in any other form. Aspirin Alcohol Antacids Isoniazid Sevelamer HIV Medication Blood Thinners Barbiturate Medication Anti-Inflammatory Medicines Seizures/Epilepsy Medication Mental Depression Medication Medication for Blood Disorders


	Depakote Over Dose In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.


	Depakote Notes This medicine is also known by the names Divalproex sodium and Valproate sodium. Do not change the brand or dosage or stop taking this medication without consulting your health care professional.


	Depakote M Dose Do not double dose to make up for a missed dose.


	Depakote Uses It is used for seizure control in ceratin types of Epilepsy and also for other conditions like Mania, Migrane Prevention, Bipolar Disorder.


	Depakote Other Uses Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.


	Depakote Storage Store at room temperature between 15 & 25 degrees C (59 and 77 degrees F), away from heat and moisture.
