Flovent

Fluticasone is a corticosteroid. It prevents the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation.

Flovent (Fluticasone) may also be described as a white to off – white powder which almost does not dissolve in water.

Moreover, Flovent (Fluticasone) freely dissolves in Dimethyl Sulfoxide, Dimethylformamide and partially dissolves in Methanol and Ethanol.

Flovent is used to prevent asthma attacks. Talk to your doctor about proper inhaler use.

Fluticasone (Aerosol Inhaler) : is usually inhaled twice a day. Ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Use exactly as directed.

Fluticasone controls asthma. It is not a cure. If you are using any other inhaled medications, ask your doctor or pharmacist whether you should inhale these medications a certain amount of time before or after you use fluticasone inhalation. Ask your doctor, pharmacist, or respiratory therapist to show you how to use it. Practice using the inhaler while he or she watches.

Fluticasone Rotacaps : Consult your doctor on how to use this medication. Rotacaps should be used with a Rotacap Dispenser only. Take exactly as directed.

Replace the protective cap after every use.

Fluticasone may cause side effects. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away :

Headache
Stuffy Nose
Difficulty Speaking
Diarrhea
Back/Joint Pain

Sometimes, Flovent (Fluticasone) may even cause Rhinitis, Dysmenorrhea, eye irritation, nausea and fainting spells.

Flovent (Fluticasone) may even cause vomiting, increased urination, depression and agitation.

Moreover, Flovent (Fluticasone) may even cause dryness in one’s mouth, hives, persistent wheezing, white patches in one’s mouth and a severe sore throat.

Flovent (Fluticasone) may even cause a severe itching sensation, Myalgia, blurred vision and Dyspepsia.

Furthermore, Flovent (Fluticasone) may even cause discomfort in one’s sinuses, increased thirst, Bronchitis, fever and an ear irritation.

Flovent (Fluticasone) may even cause unusual weight loss, dizziness, chest congestion and Dermatitis.

Inform your doctor if you are allergic to the formulation of this medication or any other medication in any other form.

Flovent (Fluticasone) interacts with various medications, such as, Aldesleukin, Mifepristone, Dexamethasone, Prednisone and Amiodarone (Cordarone).

Moreover, Flovent (Fluticasone) interacts with various medications, such as, Itraconazole (Sporanox), Clarithromycin (Biaxin), Fluoxetine (Prozac), Erythromycin and Fluvoxamine (Luvox).

In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

If you are using the aerosol, you should clean your inhaler at least once a day. Remove the metal canister and rinse the case and cap in warm running water. Dry thoroughly and replace the canister and cap.

It is very important for the patient to know that before consuming Flovent (Fluticasone) they must inform their health care professional if they have ever had a history of or are currently suffering from Osteoporosis, Tuberculosis, Glaucoma or Anaphylaxis.

Moreover, it is also very important for the patient to be aware of the fact that while consuming Flovent (Fluticasone) they must make sure to avoid coming in contact with someone who is already suffering from Chickenpox or Measles.

Do not double doses to make up for a missed dose.

Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture. Do not puncture the canister or dispose in flames.

Carry an idenfication card mentioning your condition, the medicine you take, the dosage and your health care professionals details.

If you need to undergo any kind of surgery inform your doctor you are taking this medication.

Inform your doctor if you suffer from any kind of infection,especially fungal.

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breast feeding or trying to concieve.
