Floxin

Floxin is an antibiotic categorised under fluoroquinolones which fight bacteria in the body.

Floxin (Ofloxacin) may be described as an off – white to pale – yellow, crystalline powder.

Floxin treats various bacterial infections such as :

Bronchitis
UTIs
Skin Infections
Prostrate

Floxin may impede bone development, and therefore is not recommended for use in children under the age of 12. Please consult the pediatrician or your health care professional for more information.

Take Floxin with a full glass of water, exactly as directed and on an empty stomach, ideally 1 or 2 hours before your meal.

Drink lots of fluids throughout the day.

Seizures
Unusual bleeding
Severe Fatigue, or any other symptoms which are unusal and/or persistent/severe contact your health care professional immediately.

Sometimes, Floxin (Ofloxacin) may even cause one’s muscle tendons to rupture, fainting spells, diarrhea, severe migraines and insomnia.

Moreover, Floxin (Ofloxacin) may even cause an increased pressure within one’s head, dizziness, nausea, vaginal inflammation and vomiting.

Furthermore, Floxin (Ofloxacin) may even cause a bitter after – taste in one’s mouth, convulsions, inflammation of the bowels, Psychosis and body tremors.

Lastly, Floxin (Ofloxacin) may even cause depression, restlessness, light – headedness and a severe itching sensation in a woman’s genital areas.

Inform your health care professional if you are allergic to the antibiotic Ofloxacin, or any other medication apart from the medication listed below:

Naproxen
Theophylline
Cyclosporine
Warfarin
Cimetidine
Probenecid
Glyburide
Glipizide
Ibuprofen

Floxin (Ofloxacin) interacts with various medications, such as, Cipro, Noroxin, Antacids, Micronase, Coumadin, Caltrate and Didanosine.

Moreover, Floxin (Ofloxacin) interacts with various other medications, such as, Insulin, Feosol, Motrin, Naprosyn, Diabinese, Sucralfate and Theo – Du.

In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

The most common symptom of an oflaxcin overdose is seizures.

Please inform your health care professional if you have a history of any Kidney Disorders, any kind of Seizures or Epilepsy.

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember it. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

Floxin (Ofloxacin) also helps in the treatment of Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, pelvic inflammatory diseases and ear infections. Floxin may also be used for other purposes, consult your health care professional for more information on the same.

Store at a temperature below 30 degrees C (85 degrees F).

Inform your health care professional if you are preganant or planning to concieve while under the course of treatment with Ofloxacin.

Do not breast feed whilst taking this medication or do not take this medication without doctors knowledge if breast feeding.

It is very important for the patient to know that before consuming Floxin (Ofloxacin) they must inform their health care professional if they have ever had a history of or are currently suffering from liver diseases, ear diseases or uncontrolled consumption of alcoholic beverages.

Lastly, while consuming Floxin (Ofloxacin) a patient must avoid exposure to sunlight.
