Important Warning
People taking NSAIDs, maybe at a higher risk of heart strokes or attacks, which may be sudden and could result in death. Your doctor needs to be in the know if you have a family history of Heart/Blood related Disorders/Diseases, Diabetes, High cholesterol. If you are going in for a heart related surgery inform your doctor you are taking this medication. If you are a smoker or a drinker, your doctor needs to be informed about the same.

Indocin may even be described as being almost unable to dissolve in water and just being able to marginally dissolve in alcohol.

Indomethacin medication is for relief from inflammation and pain due to Osteoarthiritis, Ankylosing Spondilytis, Gout and Osteoarthiritis.

Indomethacin medication is best taken with food and swallowed whole with a full glass of water.

Sometimes, Indocin may even cause the patient to pass dark urine, to excrete black or tarry stools, a severe and persistent abdominal pain, vomiting, disorientation, angina, numbness or weakness on one side of the body, constipation, dizziness and slurred speech.

Moreover, Indocin may even cause severe headaches, fatigue, drowsiness, sudden and unexplained weight gain, loss of hearing, mood swings, ringing in one’s ears, hallucinations, fainting spells and uncontrolled body movements.

Lastly, Indocin may even cause pain or difficulty while swallowing, changes in the amounts of urine passed, fever, a persistent sore throat, diarrhea, stiffness in one’s neck, seizures, jaundice, one’s hands and feet to swell and palpitations.

Inform your prescriber if you are allergic to any medication in any form.

Inform your health care professional if you are taking any of the medicines listed above or any other medication in any other form before starting a course with this medication.

Sometimes, Indocin interacts with various other medications, such as, Cidofovir, Diflunisal, Ketorolac, Triamterene, Cilostazol, Alendronate, Clopidogrel, Enoxaparin and Heparin.

Moreover, Indocin interacts with various other medications, such as, Prednisone, Warfarin, Desmopressin, Digoxin, Captopril, Losartan, Metoprolol, Methotrexate and Pemetrexed.

Lastly, Indocin interacts with various other medications, such as, Ibuprofen, Probenecid, Fluoxetine, Sertraline, Furosemide, Hydrochlorothiazide, Spironolactone, Celecoxib and Potassium supplements.

In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

Do not treat yourself with OTC medications for any reason without consulting your prescriber first.

If your pain continues or you experience fever or chills, consult your doctor, DO NOT treat yourself for the same.

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breast feeding, or think you may have concieved whilst on a course with this medication.

It is important for the patient to be aware of the fact that before consuming Indocin they must inform their health care professional if they have ever had a history of or are currently suffering from liver diseases, kidney diseases, a heart bypass surgery (CABG), diabetes, complications within the abdomen, bleeding ulcers or severe depression.

Moreover, it is important for the patient to be aware of the fact that before consuming Indocin they must inform their health care professional if they have ever had a history of or are currently suffering from blood – clotting disabilities, complications within the intestine, congestive heart failure, anemia, complications within the esophagus, high blood pressure or edema.

Lastly, it is important for the patient to be aware of the fact that before consuming Indocin they must inform their health care professional if they have ever had a history of or are currently suffering from fluid retention, severe dehydration, psychosis, seizures, Parkinson’s disease, asthma or nasal polyps.

Do not double doses to make up for a missed dose.

Indocin may also be used to help relieve discomfort caused due to Bursitis and Tendonitis. Indocin may also be used to help relieve pain caused due to the inflammation of the pouch surrounding one’s heart. Ask your health care professional for more information.

Store at room temperature below 30 degrees C (86 degrees F).

Indomethacin medication may cause dizziness, and alcohol consumption may increase the effect of the same.

If you need to undergo any kind of surgery inform your doctor that you are taking this medication.

Brush your teeth gently to avoid gums from bleeding.

Indomethacin medication should not taken during the last 3 months of pregnancy, as it may harm the fetus or cause complication during delivery.
