Furthermore, there has been no study of Loprox (Ciclopirox) in the case of pregnant women. However, this medication has not been shown to cause birth defects or other complications in animal studies. While on an ongoing course of Loprox (Ciclopirox) it is necessary you inform your health care professional if you are pregnant or plan on becoming pregnant. Furthermore, if you have already conceived prior to beginning a course of Loprox (Ciclopirox) you must first inform your health care professional before doing so.
It is not known whether Loprox (Ciclopirox) passes into breast milk or not. Although most medications pass into breast milk in very small quantities, many of them may be used safely during the breast – feeding process. Mothers who are using Loprox (Ciclopirox) and wish to breast – feed should first consult their health care professional. Furthermore, no tests or comparative analysis and studies have been conducted pertaining to the use of Loprox (Ciclopirox) in children within the under – ten age group with those in other age groups.
There have been no specific studies conducted for a large number of medicines for patients in adult age groups. Hence, there may be some uncertainties as to whether these medicines work in the same way as they do in younger adult age groups. Although there is no specific information comparing the use of Loprox (Ciclopirox) in adult age groups with use of the same in other age groups, this medication is not expected to cause different side effects or complications in different age groups. Furthermore, Loprox (Ciclopirox) may interact with certain medicines and hence, should not be used simultaneously. In these cases, your doctor may want to change the dose, or other precautions may be necessary. Along with Loprox (Ciclopirox) it is necessary that you inform your health care professional if you are using any other topical prescription or nonprescription (over – the – counter [OTC]) medicine that is required to be applied to the same area of the skin.
