Mobic  |  | Mobic - DescriptionMobic (Meloxicam) belongs to the class of the Enolic Acid group of nonsteroidal anti – inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and may be described as an oxicam derivative. This medication stops the body from producing a substance that causes pain, fever and inflammation.
Furthermore, Mobic (Meloxicam) may also be described as a pastel yellow solid, which is practically insoluble in water, Methanol and possesses a higher solubility rate in stronger acids and bases.

Mobic (Meloxicam) is used to help effectively treat and relieve one from pain, tenderness, menstrual cramps, inflammation and stiffness caused by Osteoarthritis |
 |  | How to Use Mobic
Mobic (Meloxicam) is available in tablet form, which must be taken by mouth, usually swallowed whole with a glass of water and may be taken once every day, with or without food.
However, you must be certain to follow the directions on the prescription label carefully and ask your health care professional or pharmacist to explain any part of Mobic (Meloxicam) you do not understand. Special care may be required pertaining to the use of this medication in children. It may take up to two weeks for Mobic (Meloxicam) to take complete effect.
Furthermore, you must also be sure to take Mobic (Meloxicam) exactly as directed and refrain from taking a greater or lesser quantity of this medication or taking this medication more often than prescribed by your health care professional. Be sure that you do not suddenly discontinue Mobic (Meloxicam) without prior confirmation from your health care professional.

While on an ongoing course of Mobic (Meloxicam) if you notice any of the symptoms listed below, or any other symptoms which may seem severe or persistent, you must contact your health care professional.
Sometimes, Mobic (Meloxicam) may cause the patient to experience nausea, diarrhea, a sore throat or cough, flatulence, peeling of skin, a running nose and vomiting.
Furthermore, Mobic (Meloxicam) may cause the patient to experience skin rashes, headaches, unexplained weight gain, mild swelling of the hands, feet, ankles or lower legs, an upset stomach, difficulty swallowing and fatigue.
Lastly, Mobic (Meloxicam) may cause the patient to experience constipation, speech complications, excretion of dark urine, an itching sensation, a stiff neck, hives, or mild pain in the right upper part of the stomach . |

If you are on an ongoing course of Mobic (Meloxicam) before you commence taking any new medication (either prescription or OTC), you must first consult your health care professional or pharmacist.
Furthermore, you must be sure to inform your health care professional if you are allergic to Mobic (Meloxicam) or any other medication in any other form. Your health care professional must also be informed if you are taking any other medication in any other form, including nutritional supplements or herbal products whilst on an ongoing course of this medication.
Sometimes, Mobic (Meloxicam) interacts with various medications, such as Benazepril (Lotensin), Captopril (Capoten), Enalapril (Vasotec), Fosinopril (Monopril), Lisinopril (Prinivil, Zestril), Quinapril (Accupril) and Warfarin (Coumadin).
Furthermore, Mobic (Meloxicam) interacts with various medications, such as Aspirin, Cholestyramine (Questran), Lithium (Eskalith, Lithobid), Dexamethasone (Decadron, Dexone), Methylprednisolone (Medrol) and Prednisone (Deltasone). |

In case of an overdose of Mobic (Meloxicam), call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.
Furthermore, symptoms of an overdose of Mobic (Meloxicam) may appear as fatigue, drowsiness, an upset stomach, vomiting, stomach pain, difficulty breathing and extremely mild seizure attacks. |

Your health care professional will order certain laboratory and/or medical tests to be performed, such as blood pressure levels, smooth functioning of the kidneys, blood electrolyte levels and blood cholesterol levels to check your response to Mobic (Meloxicam), monitor your progress and check for side effects. It is important that you do not discontinue this medication without first consulting your health care professional. While on an ongoing course of Mobic (Meloxicam), you must also refrain from driving a car or operating any kind of machinery until you know how this medication affects you. |

It is important that you do not take a double dose of Mobic (Meloxicam) to make up for a missed one unless you have consulted your health care professional.

Store Mobic (Meloxicam) in the container it came in, keep the lid tightly closed and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature (between 59 – 86 degrees F or 15 – 30 degrees C) and away from excess heat and moisture.

It is important for the patient to know that before consuming Mobic (Meloxicam); they must inform their health care professional, if they have ever had a history of, or are currently suffering from, liver complications, aspirin – sensitive asthma, stomach complications, such as ulcers or high blood pressure, diabetes, anemia, fluid retention or heart bypass surgery (CABG).
Furthermore, it is also important for the patient to know that before consuming Mobic (Meloxicam); they must inform their health care professional, if they have ever had a history of or are currently suffering from complications within the intestine, nasal polyps (growths within the nose), complications of the esophagus, blood coagulation (clotting), dehydration or kidney complications.
Lastly, Mobic (Meloxicam) may make you more sensitive to the sun; hence avoid prolonged sunshine, tanning booths and sunlamps. This medication may increase your sensitivity towards sunlight, hence use a sunscreen lotion and wear protective clothing when outdoors.
While on an ongoing course of Mobic (Meloxicam) you must inform your health care professional if you smoke. |
