If you are on an ongoing course of Nolvadex (Tamoxifen) before you commence taking any new medication (either prescription or OTC), you must first consult your health care professional or pharmacist.

Sometimes, Nolvadex (Tamoxifen) interacts with various medications, such as Warfarin, Anastrozole, Letrozole, Rifampin, protease inhibitors, Nevirapine, Efavirenz, Delavirdine, Cyclosporine, Bromocriptine, Bosentan and Aminogluthemide.

Furthermore, Nolvadex (Tamoxifen) interacts with chemotherapy medications, certain estrogen hormones, including a few birth control medications and dietary supplements, such as black cohosh, chaste berry, melatonin and soy isoflavones.

In case of an overdose of Nolvadex (Tamoxifen), call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

Furthermore, an overdose of Nolvadex (Tamoxifen) may cause one to experience shaking (body tremors), unsteady walking, fainting spells and marginal irregular heartbeats.

Your health care professional will order certain laboratory and/or medical tests to be performed, such as blood pressure levels, smooth functioning of the kidneys, blood electrolyte levels and blood cholesterol levels to check your response to Nolvadex (Tamoxifen), monitor your progress and check for side effects. Nolvadex (Tamoxifen) may also be used for short – term treatment (for a period less than one year), to treat girls aged 2 – 10 who suffer from the McCune – Albright syndrome (premature puberty). Furthermore, it is important for the patient to know that before consuming Nolvadex (Tamoxifen); they must inform their health care professional, if they have ever had a history of or are currently suffering from endometriosis, high cholesterol levels, immobility (limited or no ability to walk), diabetes, high blood pressure, cataracts or varied liver complications.

Lastly, prior to commencing a course of Nolvadex (Tamoxifen), you must also be certain to inform your health care professional if you are currently smoking or have smoked earlier on in life and have quit thereafter.
