How to Use Obagi

Obagi contains hydroquinone, vitamin C and acne – fighting ingredients, such as salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide. But you must be sure to follow the directions on the prescription label carefully and ask your health care professional or pharmacist to explain any part of this medication you do not understand.

Furthermore, you must also be sure to use Obagi exactly as directed and refrain from using a greater or lesser quantity of this medication or altogether using this medication more or less often than prescribed by your health care professional. Be sure that you do not suddenly discontinue this medication without prior confirmation from your health care professional. However, after using Obagi for an approximate period of 2 months, if you feel there are no signs of your skin condition improving, you must then consult your health care professional.

Obagi - Side Effects

While on an ongoing course of Obagi if you notice any of the symptoms listed below or any other symptoms which may seem severe or persistent, you must contact your health care professional.

Your health care professional must also be informed if you are taking any other medication in any other form, including nutritional supplements or herbal products whilst on an ongoing course of this medication.

Sometimes, Obagi interacts with various medications containing resorcinol, phenol or salicylic acid.

But, speak with your pharmacist or health care professional, or consult your local waste disposal company about the proper method by which you can safely and effectively discard your unused Obagi medication.

Obagi - Precautions

You must be sure to inform your health care professional if you are allergic to sulfites, since certain brands of Obagi contain this particular ingredient. Be certain to inform your health care professional if you have any other medical complications as well. While on an ongoing course of Obagi, protect your skin from sunlight during and after the usage of this medication. Follow precautionary measures against sun exposure, such as applying an effective sunscreen lotion and wearing protective clothing to protect the treated areas of your skin. Certain forms of Obagi contain a sunscreen, hence consult your health care professional or pharmacist as to whether the use of additional sunscreen is necessary or not.

Furthermore, avoid letting Obagi get into your eyes; get on your lips or on the inside of your nose or inside your mouth as well. If you get some of this medication in your eyes, wash them out with water and contact your health care professional. If you accidentally get Obagi on the inside of your nose or mouth or on your lips rinse thoroughly with cold water and contact your health care professional. You must also refrain from using this medication on irritated or injured skin. Using Obagi without first consulting your health care professional about the necessary precautions to be taken may cause a dark stain to form on your skin. However, the stain can be removed by stopping the use of that particular peroxide and washing your skin well with soap and water.
