Furthermore, Obagi is also used to effectively help treat varied skin discolorations that might be caused either by pregnancy, skin trauma, birth control medications or hormone replacement therapies. This medication easily penetrates the skin, stimulating skin cell renewal, improving blood circulation and rebuilding collagen. |
 |  | How to Use Obagi
Obagi contains hydroquinone, vitamin C and acne – fighting ingredients, such as salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide. But you must be sure to follow the directions on the prescription label carefully and ask your health care professional or pharmacist to explain any part of this medication you do not understand.
Furthermore, you must also be sure to use Obagi exactly as directed and refrain from using a greater or lesser quantity of this medication or altogether using this medication more or less often than prescribed by your health care professional. Be sure that you do not suddenly discontinue this medication without prior confirmation from your health care professional. However, after using Obagi for an approximate period of 2 months, if you feel there are no signs of your skin condition improving, you must then consult your health care professional.

 |  | Obagi - Side Effects
While on an ongoing course of Obagi if you notice any of the symptoms listed below or any other symptoms which may seem severe or persistent, you must contact your health care professional.
Sometimes, Obagi may cause the patient to experience dryness of the skin around the nose and eyes, a stinging sensation, redness, skin irritation and rashes.
Furthermore, Obagi may also cause the patient to experience an itching sensation, wheezing, difficulty swallowing and hives.

 |  | Obagi - Interactions
If you are on an ongoing course of Obagi before you commence taking any new medication (either prescription or OTC), you must first consult your health care professional or pharmacist.
Furthermore, you must be sure to inform your health care professional if you are allergic to Obagi or any other medication in any other form. Your health care professional must also be informed if you are taking any other medication in any other form, including nutritional supplements or herbal products whilst on an ongoing course of this medication.
Sometimes, Obagi interacts with various medications containing resorcinol, phenol or salicylic acid.
Furthermore, Obagi interacts with certain products containing hydrogen peroxide or benzoyl peroxide. |

In case of an overdose of Obagi, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911. |
 |  | Obagi - Notes
Your health care professional may order certain laboratory and/or medical tests to be performed, such as blood pressure levels, smooth functioning of the kidneys, blood electrolyte levels and blood cholesterol levels to check your response to Obagi, monitor your progress and check for side effects. You must be sure to keep all appointments with your health care professional and the laboratory. Do not let anyone else accidentally use or intentionally share your prescribed dosage of Obagi and ask your health care professional or pharmacist any questions you have about refilling your prescription.
Furthermore, if you need to undergo any kind of surgery including dental surgery or you conceive whilst on a course of Obagi inform your health care professional. You must be sure to inform your health care professional if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning to conceive.
It is important that you do not discontinue Obagi without first consulting your health care professional. It is unknown whether this medication passes into breast milk or not. |

 |  | Obagi - Storage
Store Obagi in the container it came in, keep the lid tightly closed and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature (between 59 – 86 degrees F or 15 – 30 degrees C) and away from excess heat and moisture.
Furthermore, you must be sure to throw away any Obagi medication that has gotten outdated or is no longer required. But, speak with your pharmacist or health care professional, or consult your local waste disposal company about the proper method by which you can safely and effectively discard your unused Obagi medication.

 |  | Obagi - Precautions
You must be sure to inform your health care professional if you are allergic to sulfites, since certain brands of Obagi contain this particular ingredient. Be certain to inform your health care professional if you have any other medical complications as well. While on an ongoing course of Obagi, protect your skin from sunlight during and after the usage of this medication. Follow precautionary measures against sun exposure, such as applying an effective sunscreen lotion and wearing protective clothing to protect the treated areas of your skin. Certain forms of Obagi contain a sunscreen, hence consult your health care professional or pharmacist as to whether the use of additional sunscreen is necessary or not.
Furthermore, avoid letting Obagi get into your eyes; get on your lips or on the inside of your nose or inside your mouth as well. If you get some of this medication in your eyes, wash them out with water and contact your health care professional. If you accidentally get Obagi on the inside of your nose or mouth or on your lips rinse thoroughly with cold water and contact your health care professional. You must also refrain from using this medication on irritated or injured skin. Using Obagi without first consulting your health care professional about the necessary precautions to be taken may cause a dark stain to form on your skin. However, the stain can be removed by stopping the use of that particular peroxide and washing your skin well with soap and water.
