Renova generic Tretinoin may be described as a derivative of vitamin A and is also known an as all–trans retinoic acid (ATRA).

However, it is normally valid for a period of TWO years from the date of manufacture.

Renova generic Tretinoin is used to effectively improve the appearance of your skin surface by considerably reducing fine lines, brown spots, wrinkles, roughness, mottled skin and discoloration and keeping the pores clear and disinfected.

Furthermore, generic Tretinoin is also used to effectively treat Keratosis pilaris (appearance of rough bumps on the skin) and acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL).

Renova generic Tretinoin is available in cream form in a 20gm tube and in gel form in a 15gm and 20gm tube respectively. This medication is normally applied once a day and preferably before getting into bed. Before you commence applying a very small amount of generic Tretinoin (just enough to cover your entire face lightly), you must wash your face properly and be sure it is completely dry. However, you must wait for approximately 20 – 30 minutes prior to commencing application of this medication. Exert caution while applying Renova generic Tretinoin and avoid getting this medication into your eyes, ears, nostrils, mouth and open wounds. Wash your hands after application of the same. Refrain from applying larger amounts of generic Tretinoin expecting it to provide faster or better results. This will not happen and you will only increase your chances of experiencing unwanted side effects. You will begin to see a difference in your skin within approximately 6 months of using Renova generic Tretinoin regularly.

Furthermore, you must be sure to follow the directions on the prescription label carefully and ask your health care professional or pharmacist to explain any part of Renova generic Tretinoin you do not understand. You must also be sure to apply generic Tretinoin exactly as directed and refrain from applying a greater or lesser quantity of this medication or altogether applying this medication more or less often than prescribed by your health care professional. Be sure that you do not suddenly discontinue Renova generic Tretinoin without prior confirmation from your health care professional. Your application dose must be gradually decreased, since certain conditions may worsen when generic Tretinoin is abruptly discontinued. However, the safety and effectiveness of Renova generic Tretinoin has not been established in the case of children under the age of 18 years and in the case of adults over the age of 50 years.

While on an ongoing course of Renova generic Tretinoin if you notice any of the symptoms listed below or any other symptoms which may seem severe or persistent, you must contact your health care professional.

• Sometimes, generic Tretinoin may cause the patient to experience burning, crusting (vesicle formation), peeling, blistering, redness or scaling of the treated areas, a mild itching or stinging sensation and hives.

• Furthermore, Renova generic Tretinoin may cause the patient to experience marginal swelling of the face, tongue, lips or throat, inflammation or irritation and darkening or lightening of the treated areas.

If you are on an ongoing course of Renova generic Tretinoin, before you commence taking any new medication (either prescription or OTC), you must first consult your health care professional or pharmacist.

Furthermore, you must be sure to inform your health care professional if you are allergic to generic Tretinoin or any other medication in any other form. Your health care professional must also be informed if you are taking any other medication in any other form, including nutritional supplements, preservatives, food dyes, iron supplements or herbal products whilst on an ongoing course of this medication.

• Sometimes, Renova generic Tretinoin interacts with various medications, such as Hydrochlorothiazide, Prochlorperazine, Minocycline, Bactrim, Septra, Cotrim, Sulfamethoxazole, Demeclocycline, Ciprofloxacin, Tetracycline, Isotretinoin, Chlorpromazine, Amiodarone, Promethazine, Doxycycline, Fluphenazine and Minoxidil.

• Furthermore, generic Tretinoin interacts with antibiotics, certain tranquillizers and diuretics.

• Lastly, Renova generic Tretinoin interacts with various products, such as soaps, cleansers, cosmetics, shampoos, astringents or varied facial products that may contain alcohol, Benzoyl peroxide (sulfur), alpha hydroxy acid, Resorcinol Salicylic acid and Glycolic acid – based facial products.

In case of an overdose of Renova generic Tretinoin, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222.

Furthermore, an overdose application of generic Tretinoin may cause one to experience excessive redness, peeling or unnecessary discomfort.

You must be sure to keep all appointments with your health care professional and the laboratory. Do not let anyone else apply your prescribed dosage of Renova generic Tretinoin and ask your health care professional or pharmacist any questions you have about refilling your prescription. While on an ongoing application course of generic Tretinoin, if you need to undergo any kind of surgery including dental surgery, you must consult your health care professional. If you conceive whilst on a course of Renova generic Tretinoin inform your health care professional. You must be sure to inform your health care professional if you are pregnant or breast feeding or planning to conceive. It is unknown whether generic Tretinoin passes into breast milk or not.

It is important that you do not apply a double dose of Renova generic Tretinoin to make up for a missed one unless you have consulted your health care professional.

Renova generic Tretinoin is also used to effectively treat acne and hyper pigmentation. Furthermore, you must speak with your health care professional about the possible risks of using generic Tretinoin for your condition and be sure to consult your health care professional or pharmacist for more information, since this medication is sometimes prescribed for other uses.

Store Renova generic Tretinoin in the container it came in, keep the lid tightly closed and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature (between 59 – 86 degrees F or 15 – 30 degrees C) and away from excess heat and moisture.

Furthermore, you must be sure to throw away any generic Tretinoin medication that has gotten outdated or is no longer required. But, speak with your pharmacist or health care professional or consult your local waste disposal company about the proper method by which you can safely and effectively discard your unused Renova generic Tretinoin medication.

• It is very important for the patient to know that before applying Renova generic Tretinoin they must inform their health care professional if they have ever had a history of or are currently suffering from increased sensitivity to the sunlight, varied allergies, sunburns, eczema or varied skin disorders.

• Furthermore, while on an ongoing application course of generic Tretinoin be certain that you avoid electrolysis, waxing and chemical depilatories in the case of hair removal on those particular areas that are under treatment.

• You must also be aware that Renova generic Tretinoin increases your sensitivity towards sunlight so try and curb the number of times you’re exposed to sunlight. Do not use sun lamps and tanning booths. If it is absolutely necessary for you to step outside, cover the exposed areas of skin with a sunscreen lotion (a minimum of SPF15) and wear sun – protective clothing as well.

• Lastly, you must also avoid using generic Tretinoin on sunburned skin or if you are suffering from eczema or various other serious skin conditions.
