Montelukast belongs to the class of meicines known as leukotriene receptor antagonist.
How to Use Singulair
Tablet : Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take montelukast exactly as directed.
Granules : These are oral granules to be taken by mixing with or without food and should not be chewed.
Do not mix these granules in any kind of liquid. Take montelukast granules exactly as directed.
Singulair Side Effects
If you notice any of the symptoms listed below or any other symptoms which seem severe/persistent contact your doctor immediately.
Inform your doctor about any other medication you may be taking in any other form.
Singulair Overdose
In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.
Singulair Notes
If you conceive whilst on a course with this medication inform your doctor immediately.
If you need to undergo any kind of surgery, inform your doctor you are taking this medicine.
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning to conceive.
Singulair Missed Dose
Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.
Singulair Uses
Montelukast works by blocking the action of substances that cause inflammation, fluid retention, mucous secretion, and constriction in your lungs.
It is not a cure.

Singulair Precaution
Inform your doctor if you have or have ever had :
phenylketonuria
on any corticosteroid therapy
liver disease
an acute asthma attack
