Zithromax

Azithromycin is an anti bacterial medicine belonging to a class of medicines known as macrolide antibiotics.

Antibiotic, Generic Zithromax is used in the treatment of bacterial infections in various different parts of the body. Azithromycin is also used in the prevention of mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) disease in those patients infected with HIV (human immunodeficiency virus).

Consult a paediatrician for the use of this medicine in children.

Consult your health care professional for exact dosages and take as directed. Azithromycin can be taken with or without food and the tablet is to be swallowed whole with a glass of water.

If you notice any of the symptoms listed below or any other symptoms which seem severe/persistent contact your doctor immediately.

Vaginal irritation/itching/discharge
Difficulty breathing/swallowing
Swelling of the face/lips/tongue
Yellowing of the eyes/skin
Dark yellow/brown urine
Increased sun sensitivity
Palpitations/Chest pain
Severe/watery diarrhea
Stomach pain/cramps
Irregular heartbeat
Nausea/Vomiting
Hearing loss
Drowsiness
Headache
Tiredness
Dizziness
Skin rash
Itching

Inform your doctor if you are allergic to the formulation of this medication or any other medication in any other form.

Dihydroergotamine
Magnesium salts
Terfenadine
Ergotamine
Astemizole
Triazolam
Warfarin
Digoxin
Antacids

Inform your doctor about any other medication you may be taking in any other form.

In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning to conceive.

If you conceive whilst on a course with this medication inform your doctor immediately.

If you need to undergo any kind of surgery, inform your doctor you are taking this medicine.

Do not double doses to make up for a missed dose.

Store at room temperature between 15 - 30 degrees C (59 - 86 degrees F) away from heat and moisture.

Inform your doctor if you have or have ever had :

Stomach problems (especially if u have/have had colitis)
Any other chronic illness
Kidney/liver disease
Pneumonia
